The Day 7/Ju…[?][1]

Most Beloved Bronisia

My most eternal love,

Write me how you’ve been sleeping and similarly how work went for you on Monday and whatever interesting there is to hear about you. I am, thanks [to God], healthy and I slept like after a cool bath after that Sunday walk. I wanted to stay even longer with you but I felt somehow very weak [and] in addition to you were also complaining that [your] brothers were annoying you, that’s why I left you earlier. I greet you warmly infatuated, [my] treasure, with you, and I kiss [you], faithful to you forever, Teodor Goodbye, [my] heart

[1] Following the postmark, this should be a “7” (for “July), but it looks more like the beginning of the English word “July” than a number. The Polish word for July is “Lipiec.”

  1. This says a ton. Yet leaves so much out. He left early after she said her brothers were annoying her...so did he go deal with them? Did they live nearby?
