Jersey City 4/2
Darling Bronisia!

I sent you a letter, I don’t know if you got it, because I was really hurrying off to work and when I got to the mailbox I wanted to drop it off, but the letter fell onto the street, but I didn’t look to see if it had gotten dirty, just quickly picked it up and dropped it in the mailbox, and flew off to the streetcar. If it’s really dirty forgive [me], Bronisia, because if I hadn’t been hurrying I wouldn’t by any means have let go of it. I kiss you warmly

                Goodbye, [my] heart XXXXXX Theodor
