New York the 17th Day

Beloved Bronia, I got the card from you for which I thank you. I am, thank God, healthy, which I also wish for you. And from the country I don’t have, and not in the least, any news and I don’t know if we will see our parents anymore because if it’s all true what the newspaper writes then may the Lord God protect [us]. Even my bank, I myself don’t know if the will be paying out or not, because they’re already closed. But everyone says that they’re paying out all the money to the penny and on top of that, there’s interest. Good bye, Broninia

  1. Can you imagine never seeing your parents again because of war and rumors of war? Plus the distance?

  2. Then to be working so hard and separate from each other whilst the plague of banks closing ....wow
What a time of fear and how easily Satan could have pushed down on my beautiful great-grandparents if they hadn't shown such devotion to each other and also devotion to Heavenly Father.
